As of Spring 2025, the project is in the Local Preliminary Engineering (LPE) Phase. The LPE Phase is anticipated to be completed in two years, then the Final Design and Construction phases follow. Monmouth County is the lead agency, and the project is federally funded with oversight by the NJDOT and NJTPA as cooperating agencies.
